The Trustee Team

We have our members’ interests at the heart of everything we do. We must act with fairness, independence and integrity at all times.

The Trustee Board

Our role is to manage and oversee the GE Pension Plan (GEPP) and the GE Capital Pension Scheme (GECPS), working in collaboration with the sponsoring employer (GE).

Our priority is to make sure we can pay members’ pensions when they are due. To achieve this, we work with advisers and our administrator to:

  • Make sure that the schemes are well governed, safe and secure.

  • Keep the pension schemes running as efficiently and effectively as possible.

  • Reach sound and sensible decisions on the best way to best manage the schemes and their investments.

  • Comply with the laws that govern UK pension schemes, and our own schemes’ rules.

The Trustee Talent Pool (TTP)

TTP members and the Trustee Board together make up the Trustee team. The TTP support the main Trustee Board by playing an active role in the various committees and working parties that help to govern our schemes. Whilst they are not fully-fledged Trustee Directors, they make a hugely valuable contribution to our work.

Why join the TTP?

Make an impact: This is a rewarding role where, as part of a team, you can make a difference to people’s lives, bringing your way of thinking and your insights to the essential work that we do.

Develop your skills and experience: As well as your own personal learning and development, you’ll take part in the same training provided to the Trustee Board, gaining real experience and a better understanding of how the team works and the role of a Trustee Director. This training also means you’ll be a great candidate should you wish to join the Trustee Board in the future.

Meeting new people and making new connections: Through your role in the TTP you’ll have the opportunity to talk and collaborate with people you might never otherwise meet, including employees within the company and others from the wider pensions industry.
